Garmin Edge 520 Plus Guide
This App is a great idea and when the developer gets it and the user instructions right I’m sure it will be wonderful.I recently purchased the new top of the line Bontrager Ion 1300 and FlareRT combo light system. I have installed the Bontrager light control App on my Garmin Edge 1030 and paired it with the lights. The user instructions for the app are completely inadequate, if not nonexistent. There is nothing useful in the combo light packaging. The numbered instructions on the Garmin connect IQ store (this site) are impossible to understand completely without more explanation and without screen shots. The 5 tiny images available at the bottom of the App info area are so small that they cannot be read, or even enlarged to help. I searched the web and the Trek/Bontrager site and cannot find a user guide or useful video. There appear to be 5 available screens showing on those tiny screen shots on the App download page. But I have only been able to find 2 when I have the App up on my Garmin 1030. And it is very difficult to push the button that gets me to the second page.My Trek dealer did not know how to expertly use the app and was as befuddled as I am.The little back button on the options screen is almost impossible to see. I somehow got stuck on that screen and it took me forever to figure out how to go back to the main page. The back button needs to be bigger. The Off buttons to manually turn off the lights on the main screen do not consistently work. There must be a bug. I want to be able to reliably turn off the lights from the App when I make a rest stop in the middle of a ride. As it is, the lights just stay on unless those stop buttons on the App screen happen to work that day. If the off buttons are frozen, you have to manually turn off the lights themselves and on again when you return to your ride.My lights turn on when I plug in my Garmin 1030 in to charge it. The Garmin for some reason turns itself on automatically sometimes when I plug it into my
